Hi, and welcome! Well, it’s official. The Friendship Project (TFP) is out in the world, and I could not be more excited!! ( if you have not read the FAQ page yet, I highly suggest doing so!).
The Friendship Project is founded on love. The love for my best friend and her memory, love for capturing people in an honest unique way, and love for human connection and friendship. It’s hard to even think that such a tragic moment of losing my best friend ended up leading to something (I feel) is so beautiful. Something that holds so much meaning and love.
TFP started as just an idea, and as I threw this little project idea around to others, I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback. To be honest, I was surprised! Not because I didn’t fully believe in it, but because it was, and felt, like something so personal to me… but while it may have started out that way, I quickly realized that this is bigger than me. It is a way to give back to others, helping them celebrate their relationships, to tell a story of love and friendship in a way unique to them.
In the end, I want you to look at these images of you and your friends and not just think you are looking at a ‘pretty picture’, but to really feel it, for all of the emotions to come flooding back. All of the laughter and silliness, and support, but most of all …love.
To end this first post, I just want to say that TFP is special. Not just to me, or in what it signifies, but even in its very creation. I am so fortunate to have some AMAZING friends who worked on this project with me. It wouldn’t be what it is without their support. From my friend Amanda assisting me with the website and creating the logo, Arika shooting my personal images, and Monica creating the beautiful intro video, TFP truly is at its heart, created by friends for friends.
